Mrs. Caroline Nnyomije Opara was born in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State. She attended Trans Ekulu River Primary School from 1972 to 1978 where she had her First School Leaving Certificate and her Secondary school education at Girls’ High School, Awkunawaw, both in Enugu State from 1978 to 1983.
As a result of her love for the ecology and land community, she enrolled for BSc in Botany Science at the University of Benin, Edo State from 1984 to 1988 where she graduated with Second Class Upper Division (2:1). She further equipped herself with more knowledge of the biosphere by attending the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State for an MSc. Degree in Crop Science (Agronomy) from 1990 to 1992.
Mrs. Opara joined the services of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, as Forestry Officer 1 where she was saddled with the responsibilities of supervision, general maintenance and seedlings production in the National Arboretum.
By dint of hardwork, experience, doggedness, recommendations, cooperation with colleagues, subordinates and superiors and by God’s special grace, she has risen to the enviable rank of Director, Forestry from her first position as Forest Officer 1.
